GOAL MILE
People from all over London are gearing up to run, walk or crawl a Mile for charity this Christmas as the annual GOAL Mile fundraiser returns to the capital.
Toddlers, teenagers, families and those young at heart will have the opportunity to join in the festive fun at Mill Hill Park, London on Christmas Day at 10 a.m. and raise money for GOAL’s many life-saving projects in the Developing World.
In its 28th year, the annual GOAL fundraiser has become an integral part of Christmas for thousands of people and families at home and abroad. Last year, the London event and 71 other GOAL Miles held across Ireland and overseas helped to generate over £330,000 for the poorest of the poor.
“The GOAL Mile is always a very popular community event and it is a wonderful way for people in London to show their support for the world’s most vulnerable children and families this Christmas,” said GOAL CEO, John O’Shea.
Members of the public are asked to turn up at Mill Hill Park, make a donation and run, walk, or even hop, skip or jump the mile. You don’t have to be an athlete to take part!
The first GOAL Mile was the brainchild of former GOAL chairperson and international athlete Noel Carroll and took place in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, in 1982.
